Peter Rabbit 50p coin: 2019 coin available now but the coins are in very limited stock

The Royal Mint unveiled its Peter Rabbit 2019 coin recently, with the new designs becoming available only last week. At the time of writing, three different designs of the mischievous Beatrix Potter character had been released. This includes the brilliant uncirculated coin which costs £10. The other coin currently on the market is the more limited Peter Rabbit 2019 UK silver proof coin.

This design has a limited presentation of just 30,000.

It has a price tag of £65, and is limited to just two per household, due to the high demand which was expected.

However, those interested may want to make buying this coin a priority, as more than 85 per cent of the coins have been reserved.

Printed in colour, the design – by Emma Noble – depicts the sweet rabbit.

Crunching the numbers, this means that less than £4,500 of these coins are still available for purchase.

Meanwhile, the Peter Rabbit 2019 gold proof coin, of which there were only 500, are no longer available.

It was the first time that a Peter Rabbit Gold Proof coin had ever been released individually.

The Royal Mint were clearly expecting a lot of interest in the items, having listed them for sale with a limit of just one per household.

These coins didn’t come cheap either.

Despite being a 50p, they sold for an astonishing £795.

These coins have been developed with Penguin Ventures on behalf of Frederick Warne & Co Ltd, Beatrix Potter’s original publisher.

They are created in honour of the author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, and depict one of her much-loved characters, Peter Rabbit, from the Tale of Peter Rabbit.

The sweet bunny has taken a starring role on some of the special 50p coins released by the Royal Mint for a number of years now.

Since 2016, Peter Rabbit 50p coins have been released consecutively.

Last month, the Royal Mint released the Gruffalo 50p coin.

The 50 pence piece had a picture of the character from the well-known children’s book, as well as the title of the book.
